Terms of Service
The short version.
- Sleepycamp is a paid subscription. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial; cancel before it ends and you pay nothing.
- Subscriptions renew automatically through Apple or Google until you cancel in your device’s subscription settings.
- Ask within 7 days of a charge and we will refund you, or help you get a refund from Apple. No forms, no arguments.
- Coins and camp objects are part of the game. They have no cash value and cannot be bought.
- Sleepycamp helps you keep a bedtime. It is not medical advice and not a sleep tracker.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Curtis Hunter, trading as Westflame, a sole trader established in the United Kingdom (“Westflame”, “we”, “us”). They cover the Sleepycamp mobile app and the website sleepycamp.com. By creating an account or starting a subscription you accept them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and forms part of these terms.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, including the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015.
2. Who can use Sleepycamp
You must be at least 16 years old. If the law where you live sets a higher age for entering a contract like this one without a parent’s consent, you must meet that age or have that consent.
3. Your account
- You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep that account secure; anything done through it counts as done by you.
- Pick a nickname that is not offensive and does not impersonate anyone. We may change a nickname that breaks this rule.
- One account per person. You cannot sell or transfer an account.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting it does not cancel your subscription; see section 5.
4. Subscription and free trial
Sleepycamp needs an active subscription. Two plans are offered, billed through the App Store or Google Play:
- Yearly: US$29.99 per year, starting with a 7-day free trial.
- Monthly: US$4.99 per month, starting immediately.
Prices are shown in your local currency in the app before you subscribe and may differ from the US dollar amounts above because of exchange rates and local taxes set by Apple or Google. There is no lifetime plan and no way to buy coins.
Free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. When it ends, the yearly price is charged to your Apple or Google account unless you cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the trial. One trial per person.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. Your Apple or Google account is charged within 24 hours before the renewal date. If we raise the price we will tell you in advance and, where the platform requires it, ask for your agreement before the new price applies.
Payment is handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card details. Their terms apply to the payment itself.
5. Cancelling
You cancel through the platform, not through us:
- iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Sleepycamp → Cancel.
- Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Sleepycamp → Cancel.
Cancelling stops the next charge. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription. The Support page has the same steps.
6. Refunds
Our policy is generous: if you ask within 7 days of a charge, we will refund it, no reason needed.
- Google Play purchases: email us and we issue the refund directly.
- App Store purchases: Apple processes refunds for purchases made through the App Store, and we cannot issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple declines, email us and we will make it right another way.
After 7 days, refunds are at our discretion, but we will always listen. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you also have statutory rights if the app is faulty, which this section does not limit.
Right to cancel a digital purchase. Because the subscription starts (or the trial starts) as soon as you confirm, you agree that access begins immediately and acknowledge that the 14-day cooling-off period for digital content ends once the service has started. Our 7-day refund promise above applies regardless.
7. Coins, objects and the camp
- Coins are earned by keeping nights. They cannot be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and they have no value outside the app.
- Objects, variants and world effects are licensed to you for use inside Sleepycamp while you have an account. They are not property.
- We may change the game (structures, prices in coins, streak rules, how nights are judged) to keep it fair and working. We will not remove nights you have earned.
- How a night is judged is described in the app. When the app cannot tell what happened, the benefit of the doubt goes to you. Our judgement of a night is final, but if you think the app got it wrong, tell us and we will look.
8. Acceptable use
Do not: reverse-engineer, copy or resell the app or its artwork; tamper with detection, verdicts, coins or subscription status; use the app in a way that harms other users or us; or break any law using it. We can suspend or close accounts that do.
9. Ownership
Sleepycamp, the Westflame name, the artwork, text, code and design are owned by Westflame or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own, for your own use, subject to these terms. Nothing here transfers any ownership to you.
If you send us feedback or ideas, you agree we can use them without owing you anything.
10. Not medical advice
Sleepycamp is a habit game that rewards you for leaving your phone alone at night. It does not measure sleep, diagnose anything or treat any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional advice. If you have a sleep problem or a health concern, talk to a doctor. Do not rely on Sleepycamp as an alarm; it has none. Use your normal alarm, which will never count against a night.
11. Our liability
We will provide the app with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, the app is provided as-is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that detection will be right every time.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
12. Ending the service
You can stop at any time by cancelling and deleting your account. We can suspend or close your account if you break these terms, with notice where reasonable. We may also withdraw Sleepycamp altogether; if we do, we will give reasonable notice and refund any unused part of a subscription.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that affect you materially we will show a notice in the app or email you at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Sleepycamp after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, cancel and stop using the app.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, except that if you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU you may bring a claim in your local courts and rely on the mandatory consumer laws of your country. Talk to us first: most problems are solved with one email to contact@westflame.co.uk.
